Water Heater Overheating

Jan 3rd 2019

Thermostat switches play a huge part in the functionality of your Suburban water heater. These are essential in governing just how hot your water heater gets without letting it burn down your RV. When your heater is functioning properly, your thermostat switch will regulate when to open and close the circuit to your heating element. If this fails, there is a secondary hi-temp switch used to keep the element open so that it does not continue heating. You can reset these and if both need to be reset it may indicate a thermostat failure. There are different temperature switches that you can get for your model to ensure the proper shut off temperature. If your water heater is overheating this is one of the first places to look!
